Our residents are family. They are mainly independent seniors that need assistance with daily living activities and medication administration. Yes, we do accept residents that have alzheimer's / dementia if we are able to provide the level of care needed but we are not a Certified Alzheimer's Facility as defined by Texas Health & Human Services. Our residents want to live in an environment that maximizes and promotes their autonomy, dignity, privacy and safety. They enjoy being a part of a community and interacting with various community members. They are the heart of our home.

Residents Bill of Rights

Just because someone moves into an assisted living facility or nursing home does not mean that they give up their rights. In fact, federal and state laws guarantee additional rights specific to nursing home residents and state law protects rights specific to assisted living facility residents. Texas State Ombudsman

Residents Bill of Rights

Residents Bill of Rights

Long-Term care (LTC) ombudsmen are advocates for resident rights. They help protect the quality of life and quality of care of anybody who lives in a nursing home or an assisted living facility.

Ombudsmen can be volunteers or paid employees of agencies that are independent of any long-Term care facility. Services are free, confidential and available statewide.

Some of the ways in which LTC ombudsmen serve residents include:

  • Telling residents about their rights
  • Empowering and supporting residents and their families to discuss concerns with facility staff
  • Identifying gaps in facility, government or community services and trying to help fix those gaps
  • Protecting resident health, safety, welfare and rights
  • Providing information about and help with finding long-term care
  • Receiving and investigating complaints
